Overview
Each sprite in Roco Kingdom: World belongs to one or two elements. Elements determine the sprite's strengths and weaknesses in battle, as well as which skills it can learn. Understanding the element system is crucial for building effective teams.
Key Concept: When a sprite uses a skill that matches its element, the damage is boosted by 50%. This is known as Same-Type Attack Bonus (STAB).

How Elements Work in Battle
When you attack an opponent, the effectiveness of your move depends on the relationship between the move's element and the target's element:
- Super Effective (2x): The attacking element is strong against the defending element. Deals double damage.
- Not Very Effective (0.5x): The attacking element is weak against the defending element. Deals half damage.
- Immune (0x): Some element combinations result in no damage at all.
- Normal (1x): Neutral effectiveness. Standard damage.
Important: Dual-element sprites can have compound weaknesses or resistances. A sprite that is both Grass and Water, for example, would take neutral damage from Fire (Grass is weak, Water resists).
Tips for Building Around Elements
When building your team, try to cover as many elements as possible. A well-balanced team should have:
- At least one sprite that can deal super-effective damage against common threats
- No more than two sprites sharing the same weakness
- Coverage moves on your sprites to handle unexpected matchups
- At least one tank or support sprite that can absorb hits
