Common Mistakes to Avoid
1. Wasting Gulu Balls Early
Many new players use Advanced Gulu Balls on common sprites they'll encounter everywhere. Save your premium balls for rare and hard-to-find sprites. Normal Gulu Balls work fine for common encounters.
2. Ignoring Element Matchups
Using a Fire move against a Water sprite does half damage, while using a Grass move does double damage. Always check the element chart before entering tough battles. See our Element System guide for full details.
3. Neglecting Defense
It's tempting to focus entirely on attack power, but a team of glass cannons will crumble against strong opponents. Always have at least 1-2 tanks or support sprites in your team.
4. Evolving Too Early
Some sprites learn unique moves at specific levels in their base form that they can't learn after evolving. Check the move list before evolving — sometimes waiting a few levels is worth it.
5. Hoarding Resources
Don't be afraid to use your materials and items. The game gives you plenty of resources through gameplay. Hoarding everything "for later" often means you never use them at all.
6. Skipping Daily Activities
Daily quests and arena battles are your primary source of upgrade materials and currency. Skipping even a few days puts you behind other players. Make them part of your routine.
7. Not Diversifying Your Team
Running a team with 3+ sprites of the same element makes you extremely vulnerable. A single counter-pick can wipe your entire team. Build diverse teams with good element coverage.
8. Forgetting About Speed
Speed determines turn order. In many cases, going first is more valuable than dealing slightly more damage. Don't ignore Speed when building your sprites — a faster sprite can eliminate threats before they even act.
9. Misusing the Breeding System
Breeding is one of the most powerful systems in the game, but it's also easy to waste time on bad pairings. Always check egg groups, IV inheritance rules, and what moves can be passed down before committing to breeding.
10. Not Reading Skill Descriptions
Many skills have secondary effects that aren't obvious from their name alone. Skills that inflict status effects, boost stats, or set weather can completely change a battle's outcome. Always read the full description.
